This is a very special Remembrance week, and people across our area are marking it in a way worthy of the centenary anniversary of the end of the First World War.
The display coordinated by the people of Nunthorpe and Cllr Jon Rathmell is a sensational work of art, surrounded by the work of the Nunthorpe & Marton Knitters. I visited this weekend to pay my respects, and it is attracting hundreds of visitors.
Meanwhile, night after night Loftus Mayor Barry Hunt is sleeping out in the cold at war memorials across East Cleveland to raise money for SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity.
There will be a special debate in the House of Commons on Tuesday and I will seek to pay tribute to both these amazing efforts, as well as honouring the memory of all those men from Middlesbrough and East Cleveland who made the ultimate sacrifice.
