Taking on Fly-tipping in Guisborough

Thursday, 17 January, 2019

There have been some shocking examples of fly tipping around Guisborough recently and today I raised the issue in Parliament. I highlighted Wilton Lane and the Moor Road, but there are other examples like Walton Terrace.

The minister affirmed the fines that are payable and the importance of checking who is taking your waste away.

There are some phenomenally hard-working volunteers who regularly help litter pick, led by the great Pam Hodson and others like Andrew Hixon and Anthea Over, and they deserve our full support. But the problem needs to be tackled at source and we can all help by being vigilant.

You can report fly tipping here.
