Since this Spring, the NHS South Tees Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) have introduced a move improving GP services with 90,000 extra GP appointments per year across the region as well as extending GP access hours to evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays.
In today's Health Questions in the House of Commons, Simon Clarke took the opportunity to celebrate this initiative by South Tees CCG regarding improvements in access to GPs across Middlesbrough South and East Cleveland.
He outlined the features of this initiative, celebrating its success and inviting the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of Health, Steve Brine, to join him in its commendation.
The Minister responded by joining Simon in welcoming the move, as well as highlighting that South Tees residents can now access GPs at a time that is convenient for them, as should be the case.
