It was lovely to see The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association this week in Parliament and be able to pledge my support to their Access All Areas campaign.
Three quarters of assistance dog owners report that they had been refused entry by businesses because of their dog.
Disabled people should have the same fair and equal access as anyone else to shop, take a taxi or visit their local pub.
That’s why I want to raise awareness of this issue this Christmas, and I hope you will join me in supporting this excellent campaign.
(I’m pictured below with Sally and her black lab/retriever cross Yoko, and the extremely playful guide dog puppy Carter who will soon begin his formal training).
