With negotiations underway for Britain's departure from the European Union, it is vital to ensure that the best deal possible is delivered for Middlesbrough South and East Cleveland as well as for the whole of the United Kingdom.
Last week, Simon met with top Brexit campaigner, Jonathan Isaby, Editor of Brexit Central, to discuss how how to grasp the opportunities that Brexit provides, as well as priorities and how these intend to get the best outcome for the constituents of Middlebrough South and East Cleveland.
Mr Isaby outlined the work done by Brexit Central, explaining their role as an informant on all issues surrounding Britain's exit from the European Union, as well as being a voice of optimism throughout the Brexit process.
Simon also drew on the enormous local mandate delivered for Brexit, in reference to the 66% Leave vote returned by the constituency in the 2016 referendum, and highlighted how the area as a net exporter wants to get out into the world and engage with the wider global economy.
