Last night was one of the most important votes in Parliament for decades. In my video I set out what should happen next.

Ahead of what is going to be a crucial fortnight in Parliament I wanted to lay out for Middlesbrough South and East Cleveland residents (in as balanced a way as possible) what to expect over the next two weeks.

Today I took part in a panel discussion about next steps with Brexit - and why we should prepare calmly and confidently for a "no deal" outcome.

I've welcomed the news that at today's Cabinet, ministers agreed to significantly step up planning for a "no deal" Brexit.

Lots of you have contacted me wanting to know my position on yesterday's drama in Westminster.

I campaigned and voted to leave the EU, and we must leave properly. The Prime Minister’s Brexit proposals risk leaving the U.K. trapped as a rule-taker from Brussels, needing the EU’s permission to escape the “backstop”. I believe this would be an historic mistake.

On 14 November, the Government published the proposed Withdrawal Agreement with the EU alongside a short political declaration on the future UK-EU relationship.
